I have 26 years teaching experience in both the primary and post-primary sector, including eight years as the ICT Advisor for Waterford Teachers’ Centre. I hold a BA Degree, Higher Diploma in Education, Post Graduate Diploma in ICT in Education and an MA in Education.   I am also fully registered with the Teaching Council (No: 160158).  Please contact me, if you wish to avail of this service. I also worked on numerous Irish language projects and is an expert on the use of computer technology to enhance teaching and learning. I have several publications including: The Advantages of using the Internet as a Teaching and Learning Tool for Second Language Learning in Relation to the Irish Language; and A Critical Evaluation of the Integration of ICT into the Republic of Ireland’s Primary School Curriculum.  
I give Internet Safety Presentations, in either Irish or English. This includes the following:

Presentations  to school pupils, teachers and Boards of Management.
Parents’ Internet Safety Presentations (usually at night).
Presentations to Community Groups.

This talk takes the format of a PowerPoint Presentation, which examines the latest research in this area, including video clips analysing Social Networking sites, including Ask.fm and Facebook. I also examine mobile phones safety issues, and the law relating to online harassment. I also discuss the latest research findings in this area, including the EU Kids Online Survey 2011 (25 Countries).  Each participant will be given a CD-ROM containing these resources. This presentation will last for approximately 50 minutes, followed by a question and answer session. The main points dealt with are:

·        The law and the Internet (Online Harassment and Cyberstalking).

·        Social Networking Sites, including Ask.fm and Facebook.

·        Issues relating to Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and other sites.

·        How to monitor your children's home computers, laptops and tablet devices.

·        How to monitor your children’s mobile phones and how to keep them safe online.
